  • How do I wire the Dayton amp to my Denon 4311???

I am pretty sure there is a way to wire the Dayton so it tuns on and off with the AVR instead of doing it manually.

What wire do I need and where does it plug in?

    Thank you,

    Bill

Hi Bill. You connect one of the 4311's trigger outputs to the trigger input on the Dayton, using a cable, of the appropriate length, with 3.5mm monaural connectors (see page 27 of your 4311 manual).

You'll need to make some settings in the 4311 (see page 105 in the manual)

Seems difficult to find the cable on the internet. Radioshack should have them but I can't find them on the website. You might give a call to your local Radioshack to see if they have them in stock.

The more common stereo (headphone extension male to male) cable will work as well - much easier and cheaper to find.
      Here's a selection at Monoprice

Steve you very well could be right. I've seen this "stereo" vs. "mono" trigger issue debated at many forums, without resolution, so I'm not certain myself. However, I simply was going by the 4311 Manual which said:

I failed to notice that this statement seems to imply that both a mono and stereo cable were included with the 4311. So, Bill, you might look through the stuff that came with the receiver to see if you already have the cable(s) you need.

Of course, the language problems with Denon manuals is well known. It's possible they meant to say "Use a monaural mini-plug" and failed to use the correct word. ;)

I stand corrected - I have an Onkyo, so I may well be wrong. I googled a 3.5mm male to male mono cable - one that didn't cost too much: http://deepsurplus.com/Home-Theater-...io-Patch-Cable This is a 10ft cord less than $4 shipped.

Maybe it did come with the Denon, going to look now.

It did not come with it.

Looks like I will have to buy one.

              Thank you!!!

Stereo has always worked for me. I think the last cable I picked up was at walmart for like $6

Just curious, has anyone tried splitting the output and running more than one device off a single 12V trigger?

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the draw of the amps and their sensitivity to decreased amperage from splitting the 12v signal.

I bought the Mono wire on line, it works perfect.

                      Thank you all
