  • Ground Loop Hum

Need help-- i have a ground loop hum and can't resolve it-
I have the older model 18.1 on a Dayton 1000 amp. I can unplug everything on the circuit, except the amp - and still get hum.

I bought a 3 prong to 2 prong adapter, and that removes the hum but don't want to leave on there- was just testing.

The odd thing is, the hum is less noticeable when all components are plugged it, as I unplug the power strip/battery back up, the hum get much louder.

Is it the amp? Its been like this since day one. (about 6-8 months old) I just lived with it?

    Any help is appreciated-

Sounds like the same problem I had. I've been using the Ebtech Hum X Voltage Hum Filter for the past couple of months, and it works great. It's on the expensive side, but well worth the money.

If you have cable TV try the Viewsonics isolator. I use this and it stopped the problem for me.

If you take yourself too seriously, expect me to do the exact opposite
