  • Calibration CONFUSION!!

    Hey guys...

I have the Bossobass's setup Guide and read it a few times now.

    I am still very confused...

It seems like a NEED the calibration disc... but Bossobass says he uses the test tones from his AVR. But how do I know what the frequency is that's coming from the test tones? The RS meter only shows me db's.

    Any guidance is appreciated.

Phil - That guide is almost a decade old. With today's Auto Set Up receivers, it's really not needed to go through all those steps.

Phil, the test tones coming from a receiver cover all the frequencies. It is called pink noise. UM..... or is it white noise. Someone will come along and make it clearer. :D

It's neither - but pink noise is close enough. :)

          Craig,

Question... do you have any documentation on suggested set-up steps?

Phil - There is the manual with the Dayton amp. Outside that, you would follow the instructions with the receiver.

If you need more help beyond this, let's talk on the phone. :)
