Can I see them? I can't commit to purchase the VS-18.1 until I know it has adequate bracing and I'd also like to see the woofer out of the box as I haven't ever seen a picture posted. And these woofers have been used long enough, it seems by now someone would have posted such pics. This isn't a ploy. I genuinely want to see how well the box and woofer are built so I can make a decision to purchase or not.

The picture of the woofer was from Bossobass, and to my limited knowledge, he hasn't acquired a CHT sub to take a picture of it. If I were a betting man, I'd guess he's found a stock Eminence driver as well as all the stock parameters he probably uses to make judgments of and not the custom driver CHT uses.
Boober may be able to discuss the robustness of the VS cabinets, I'd guess it doesn't flex to any audible effect. To me, some designs seem over built with needless bracing that adds to cost and weight with questionable performance value.Comment

Wes - The subwoofer enclosure was done with a 2 inch thick, very high quality, MDF Baffle and the rest with 1 inch thick. The bracing was done to make sure the cabinet is inert.
Keep in mind that more bracing does not equal better performance. Too much bracing also takes up interior volume, which changes the performance of the sub and adds expense.
To the driver, I do not know of anyone who has felt compelled to remove one of our drivers and posted pics of the drivers we use.
We are not permitted to sell the drivers without being in a complete enclosure. We are also not permitted to put raw driver pics on the site or forum. I don't know if anyone has actually pulled a pic of our driver, or if the driver you referenced was another Eminence driver.
I can tell you that our drivers have an Fs of 19.4 Hz and an X-max of 19 mm. I am not trying to be a smart "alek", but I don't know what performance parameter can be drawn from looking at the picture of a driver.
We have a full battery of measurements posted here:

The cabinets feel like mini refrigerators. I'm 100% satisfied with the build quality of the cabinets. I've been curious to see how they look on the inside as well, plus have always been kind of curious to take a gander at the drivers as well, but I'm kind of burnt out on that whole, taking apart my subs after having done that way too many times over the years with my MFW's. :biglaugh:
If you have any more questions about them Wes, I'll try and answer them the best I can.
EDIT: Actually, as I'm sitting here thinking about it, I guess my VS18.1's are really more like mini safes... :DComment
