Trying to get one of the 18.2s setup. Audyssey is reporting sub error of "check phase". When Audyssey checks on the sub a test signal does present.

I have sub1 prepro output to "left" sub amp input. I have double checked speaker wires.

Any other ideas on what I should check to move forward?

Reverse the positive and negative speaker wires on either the amp end or the subwoofer end - not both.

Then retry Audyssey. It's telling you the subwoofer is out of phase with the other speakers.

Would reversing the phase knob/switch have the same effect?:no clue:

Thanks Craig, the sub resolved ok after reversing the speaker wires. It wouldn't matter that the rear of the sub is facing into the room would it? Also curious about EddyZ's question.

This is what Audyssey did on 8 pt calibration.

        left -4 db
        center -7 db
        right -2 db
        left rear +6 db
        right rear +4 db
        sub -2 db
        front small 60 hz
        center small 50 hz
        back small 80 hz

I couldn't help myself and threw in Master and Commander for a little test run. What is the red indicator light for (displayed during cannon fire)?

I'm scrambling on my front of room treatments -- got all the base tracking mounted in front of room last night. I should be able to get all of the accoustical cotton up on the front of the room this weekend.

Looking forward to getting the treatments in and putting the second 18.2 in play with a better cal...

That means that the amp's soft clip circuitry is in use. This is an indicator that you are starting to run out of headroom.
