I have a line on a used SVS PC12 NSD. Can anyone compare it's performance to the projected CS10.2 sub? I know the dates have slipped but assuming the beta test goes well could we expect the CS 10.2 for delivery in March(April)? I currently have no sub but am suffering a bad case of upgrade itis?

IF things go as hoped/anticipated/expected, the answer to your question is a resounding YES!Jack

Originally posted by AjaxI completely understand the agony of being subless and sympathize with your situation. You should factor my bias into my saying that, were I you, I'd wait for the 10.2.
As you know, we've already hit a few snags on the bumpy road to production. As a result, I'm hesitant to even imply a time frame. However, as we resolve each issue, fewer things which can throw a monkey wrench into our plans remain. We are tantalizingly close to production.
IF things go as hoped/anticipated/expected, the answer to your question is a resounding YES!

OH ... and if there is a problem with the amp that needs addressed, a replacement amp will be provided at our expense.Jack

I'm not sure what you're asking, or what point you are trying to make. Craig has been putting these subs through rigorous testing since November. It is plainly stated on our web site that "From the date Tweak City Audio (“TCA”) originally ships a Product to you, and for a period of five (5) years for our TCA-brand speakers and subwoofers (excluding the amplifier), and three (3) years for our TCA-brand electronics (including subwoofer amplifiers), (collectively “Products”), at our option, TCA will repair or replace the defective Product or its components."Jack

Betas I have been involved with in the past uncovered not only defects but also sub-optimal components/configurations. Just because a component is sub-optimal, it does not mean it is defective.
If during the beta you find that the amp or the driver could be better if some small mods were made to their designs, would you consider those components to be defective?
Please excuse all of my questions - I am trying to make sure I understand what I am signing up for if I buy v1 of cs10.2.

my understanding of the situation is that Craig has tested and is confident in the cabinets and drivers. He was not 100% happy with the last versions of the amps so he is running the beta program.
I also believe that Craig said the beta amps would be replaced with new ones if there are changes made to the production subs. In otherwords if Craig does not sign off on the beta amps for any reason, defective or sub optimal, you will get a new production amp.

Matt (m-fine) is correct. The initial amps received in November had a couple of small, easily resolved performance issues. These issues do not exist in the amps arriving this month for the beta program. IF, during the beta program, these amps perform as hoped/anticipated/expected, full production will closely follow with identical amps. If these amps need further tweaking (not expected), the owners of the beta subs will be provided with the final production amp, when available, at our expense.Jack

Edit: Scratch that. I re-read what you said in a previous reply. I think I am now clear on what your plans are.
