  • sub in other room

Would putting a sub in the room on the other side of the wall sound ok. Right now I have a downfiring sub in the family room against the wall that has a bedroom on the other side. I was thinking about moving the sub into the bedroom to make it look cleaner and less cluttered. Would I loose a lot of the bass doing this?

The audible bass would suffer and you would lose all that wonderful impact a sub produces moving the air inside the room :-(

You could place the sub on it's side, so it acts like a front firing sub, and cut a hole in the wall to have the body in the bedroom but the drivers/port in the listening area.

Looks like I'm gonna have to buy a longer sub cable and put it on the other side of my living room next to my couch. I hate messing in the insulation.

Before you start moving things around you should test your new location. Put the sub in your seating position and go listen to the bass response where you want to place it.

Very limited on where I can place the sub. Next to the TV it's kind of cramped since I got the X-omnis. The only other place is next me on the couch. I'll give it a try first before I run the cable for a permanent move.
