  • Bookshelf Speaker Shootout with Chane 1.4, KEF Q150 and Martin Logan XL16

My impressions of the Chane 1.4 compared to the other speakers tested.
Bass is better than the others (goes deeper with more power)

Best dynamics and largest soundstage, soundstage is not forward or behind speakers. Extremely balanced speaker.
Slightly brighter than the others but the highs were very welcome as you could hear the detail high-end like cymbals etc., which made the other speakers sound like a thin bed sheet was over them.

Best focusing/coherency of instruments/voices in the soundstage of the speakers tested

This was in a small room of about 12ft by 13 ft carpeted room. Tested on sand-filled stands 18 in. from the wall with bass ports fully opened on all speakers.
All were very listenable with no speaker fatigue.

Thanks for the review. I was also looking at those other speakers and some others. Glad I went with the Chanes.
