You can read my review in the these forums for a good write up on the 6.2s I have.
I am running them behind an Outlaw 990 pre and the 7500 (5x200) amp. This should not be too different from the Rotel rig. I can say this, the upper range is scary good on the 6.2s. The detail that I get from them is amazing. They also have one of the widest soundstages I have heard. These are the type of speakers that will make your music library sound like a different recording from what you have heard previously. The midrange is smooth as glass and I love how the vocals sound from them. One thing I have discovered from having them for a fairly long time now is that they a slight dip in the lower midrange frequency range. This probabably is one reason the vocals sound a bit recessed in the soundstage compared to other speakers. I believe that it's also why they don't have a trace of "honkyness" and the soundstage is larger. One area that does suffer a bit though is that a sharp gunshot is more heard than felt. It is this specific frequency that seems to be not as forward as the rest of the range. All forms of bass are there and are quite smooth and musical. They don't have the quickest bass response I have ever heard (not slow by any means), but they also are not boomy and have defined bass notes. You can hear the vibrations from an acoustic bass with ease. Most music blows me away on these. They compare to speakers in the 2.5k - 3k range easily. Some tracks simply give me chills. If rock is your primary choice in music though the "grind" that you might feel from the distorted guitar might be a tad subdued as compared to the upper range. Keep in mind that the upper range is never harsh or painful. You can listen to these LOUD and the louder you make them the bigger your smile gets.
One constant is true from all the speakers I have auditioned is that they all have compromises. The Swans are no exception, but they are very close to ideal. Very highly recommended. I would buy Swans again.
It took a bit longer to get them. Jon is very honest and easy to work with. Trust that he will get them to you in good shape. If there are any issues he will clear them up immediately.
